Dance. Love. Learn. ~ 2024 Annual Appeal

Empowering our Dancers in the Special Needs Community

At danceability, we aim to advocate, educate, and support every dancer, family, and caregiver that comes through our door. Danceability is in its 18th year- and it is our biggest one yet! With 210 dancers this year, spanning ages of 3 in our Caregiver and Me class, to 80 years young in our weekly in-studio classes, we are thrilled to watch our program grow!

This year we are thriving with the theme ~Dance. Love. Learn~ a way of life that we share with our dancers, teachers, volunteers, and staff.

While much of what we do follows that of a traditional dance studio- one big difference is that our dancers don’t follow one specific genre. While a class may begin with learning ballet basics, halfway through the year may begin learning the rhythm of tap, and then the beat of hip hop. This not only exposes our students to all dance has to offer but also helps our dancers find their own style and groove! This method allows our teachers to see what is igniting their students in class, which then becomes the choice for the end-of-year performance. While the end performance is the goal for some, what is most important is that the students find comfort, confidence, and belonging in the walls of our unique studio.

But it isn’t just dance classes we offer- danceability has been expanding into other areas of art and fitness.

~Our Caregiver and Me class gives our littlest dancers (age 3) and their Caregivers a place to listen to music, work on sensory experiences, and experience movement classes that are right for them.

~Fitness Frenzy is our adaptive fitness program that teaches more about fitness and workouts while having fun and building up a sweat!

~Theater Classes are taught by Second Generation Theater which gives our participants a place to expand their performance ability with exciting theater games.

~Lead danceability staff and teachers have created a unique and special Early Childhood Dance Program which can be adapted to serve individual dancer’s needs.

While our mission is to provide fitness and movement programs that serve the special needs community, we also work to create a community of caregivers, family, and friends who are able to have a space to share experiences, ideas, and resources. Our sensory waiting room provides the perfect atmosphere; welcoming students into a safe and secure environment when they walk through our doors and giving our caregivers a comfortable place to connect.

In the danceability studio, we bring people together—young dancers, caregivers, and staff—each adding to a circle of joy, resilience, and growth.

When you make a donation to this year’s Annual Appeal, your contribution goes even further. Very generous donors are matching donations to help us continue to grow. This allows each donation to make an even bigger impact.

Here at danceability, we are thankful to have such a warm community of supporters who help make our studio possible. It is because of generous donors that we can make a difference with such deserving individuals and their caregivers. Please consider a donation today!
